Job Description:

MINIMUM Qualifications:



Education:

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Preferred: Associates degree

Experience:

* 1 year full-time (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in pre-hospital, emergency or critical care settings
* Preferred 1 year of this work experience within five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credentialed field.
* Degree in education, or equivalent course work of an education degree, OR 6 months of teaching experience prior to being hired.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities:

* Ability to communicate in person, in writing and by telephone
* Aptitude to establish working relationships with the public, our medical direction customers and employees
* Maintenance of professionalism and a standard of excellence with Regions employees, managers, customers and public
* Competency to work independently, with autonomy and to meet deadlines
* Keen sense of organization and prioritization
* Working knowledge of pre-hospital medicine, the EMSRB requirements, the American Heart Association, and national registry standards
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
* Possess a valid driver’s license
* Maintenance of a clean driving record
* Certification level at the level or above the level of teaching

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

* Minnesota or Wisconsin EMT certification
* Preferred NREMT certification
* Preferred EMT-I / Advanced EMT certification
* Preferred CPR Instructor
* Preferred DOTor NAEMSE Instructor (required certification within first year of hire)
* Preferred WI I/C Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The EMS Basic Instructor is primarily responsible instruction of the basic and first responder level EMS courses, with the ability to play a lead role. The instructor may participate in the development of curriculum at the basic level. The EMS Basic instructor duties include participation in mandatory prepatory meetings, evaluation of material, active participation in the improvement of this material, taking a lead role when appropriate, and supporting program development and special projects.
