Job Description:
Position Summary:
Under the immediate direction of the nurse, performs non-professional nursing care tasks for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and other duties deemed necessary to provide an environment conducive to patient care.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School degree or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program and/or Emergency Medical Technician
training program
OR
Experience in an acute care or long term care setting as a Nursing Assistant
and/or past work experience as an Emergency Room Tech or Emergency Dept Tech.
(2080 hours worked experience)
Volunteer experience in an acute care setting may be considered inplace of paid
worked experience.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required upon start of employment and demonstrates every two years thereafter competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The year when demonstration of competency is not required a general review of CPR is required. EMT and/or NA certification preferred.
