Job Description:
This position is responsible for screening and enrolling patients into active emergency and acute care clinical trials administered by the Critical Care Research Center at Regions Hospital. The Center oversees all research activities for the Emergency Medical Services department, the Emergency Department, the Burn Center, the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and the Adult and Pediatric Level 1 Trauma programs. The clinical research enrollment specialist will be responsible for remote screening of potential research subjects, and if eligible, to complete consent, randomization, and data collection for research subjects. The successful candidate will be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinical staff and research subjects.
This position requires a minimum of 5 shifts per month (24 hours period; 7a-7a), with 2 of the 5 shifts on weekend days (Fri/Sat/Sun). Due to the time-sensitive nature of this position, candidates must be able to respond to Regions Hospital within 30 minutes.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in a health-related field required. Minimum of 2 years working in a direct patient care role (PCA, EMT-B, RN, PA or MD) in an emergency department or intensive care setting; previous clinical research experience and experience working in an on-call role highly desired.
Current licensure as an allied health care provider (PCA, EMT, paramedic, RN, PA, or MD) required.
Certified Clinical Research Coordinator certification (SoCRA or ACRP) desired but not essential.
