Job Description:
MINIMUM Qualifications:
Education:
* High School Diploma
* Preferred: Associates degree
Experience:
* 2 full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in pre-hospital, emergency or critical care settings
* Preferred 1 year of this work experience within five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credentialed field.
* Degree in education, or equivalent course work of an education degree, or 2 years of teaching experience prior to being hired.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Knowledge, Skills
& Abilities:
* Ability to communicate in person, in writing and by telephone
* Aptitude to establish working relationships with the public, our medical direction customers and employees
* Maintenance of professionalism and a standard of excellence with Regions employees, managers, customers and public
* Competency to work independently, with autonomy and to meet deadlines
* Keen sense of organization and prioritization
* Working knowledge of pre-hospital medicine, the EMSRB requirements, the American Heart Association, and national registry standards
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
* Possess a valid driver’s license
* Maintenance of a clean driving record
* Certification level at the level or above the level of teaching
Licensure/Registration/Certification:
* Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification
* Preferred NREMT Paramedic certification
* DOT or NAEMSE Instructor Preferred
* CPR Instructor Preferred
* ACLS Instructor
* Optional PALS, ITLS, AMLS instructor
* Optional RN, BSN, PA-C in combination with EMT certification or higher
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The EMS Advanced Instructor is primarily responsible instruction of the advanced level EMS courses, with the ability to play a lead role. The instructor must be able to develop curriculum at both the basic and advanced level and be able and willing to instruct at the basic level as needed. EMS Advanced instructor duties include participation in mandatory development and prepatory meetings, evaluation of material and active participation in the improvement of this material, taking a lead role when appropriate, and supporting program development and special projects.
