Job Description:
Summary:
To perform functions associated with obtaining, receiving and processing of laboratory specimens on patients of all ages; to maintain laboratory and cardiology equipment and supplies; to accurately obtain a peripheral IV catheter placement as directed by nursing policies and procedures; to accurately perform and deliver an ECG tracing as directed by cardiology policies and procedures*; to receive and respond to telephone inquiries about laboratory processes and results; provides professional and respectful customer service to all patients and their family members, healthcare providers and staff ; participate in training of new personnel and any student clinical rotations and to perform related functions as assigned.
Education:
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience:
Must have 6 months of health care experience to include phlebotomy or IV insertion*. The following may substitute for the above experience required.
* Completion of a health care program (e.g., CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy).
Additional Information:
Experiance preferred in IV start, EKG or Phlebotomy.
